This story’s topic seems so strange! you all must be thinking, what kind of pact it is? let’s start the story. in this world people are not only dying of diseases but now suicide is most common cause of death among people. People are taking their life for granted. Hope this story works to prevent suicide.

This story revolves around Mr. James, who is the main character of this story. Mr. James lives in small rental room with his not so successful life, He is unemployed and has been divorced. He hardly makes any money. he has to borrow money from his friends, now nobody is ready to lend him money because he has not paid his previous debt. He is also on medication of depression, but he stopped going to psychiatrist since he is lacking of money. Life is quite difficult for him. He thinks about his bad situations all the time. His depression was increasing day by day and unfortunately he is alone, nobody is here to help him! he cries all the time because his internal and external both, problems were getting worse.

One day, he wrote something on the paper, you guess write! he was writing suicide note to nobody(since he has no family and friends). after writing the note. He went near the river, which was near to his place, it was night time and no one was there. “It was the right time and place to die”, he said. He was about to jump into the river but suddenly he was stopped by a person. This person was carrying lots of letters and notes, no! he was not postman! he introduced himself,” I m Mr.Suicide”. James looked at him and said, “just get lost let me do my work”!! don’t joke with me life already does it! Mr. Suicide laughed at this sentence of James, he said, “you have great sense of humor”, “and by the way life jokes with everyone in this world, with you with other people too” . James said, leave me alone! go away!.. Mr. Suicide said, i will go away but after giving you this letter, James asked, what kind of letter? Mr. Suicide replied, “the letter which you wrote to me in the afternoon”. James said, ” i did not write any letter to anyone”. Mr. Suicide “You wrote a suicide note, right? James asked, how do you know? Mr. Suicide said, “because you wrote this letter to me” and not only you but in every minute i get suicide letters from people of this world! James felt that something strange is happening with him. He asked to Mr. suicide to show the letter and Mr. Suicide did so.

James asked to Mr. Suicide, why he came to him,Mr. Suicide replied” I came here to do a pact with you. James said ” what kind of pact ?” Mr. suicide said that “i can not accept your suicide note this time”. James asked,” why you can’t accept it?”. Mr. Suicide said, “I will accept this suicide note but after a year”, ” you have to rewrite it next year on today’s date. James was confused, he said why do i need to rewrite this letter after a year, i want to die right here! right now!. Mr. Suicide explains ” you can’t die now, you have to wait for a year and then you can apply for death”. James asked, “and what do i do for an entire year?”. Mr. Suicide, “according to this pact you can’t die for one year, it means you have much time to live life,so live the life! and i will meet you right here after a year on this same day”. James decided to postpone his suicide plan for a year but he also doesn’t know, what he needs to do in whole year, next day he introspects everything, and he finally decided to wait for next year and doing something for entire year. because he has just one year he started finding any job which can provide him food and luckily he got the one. He used to do his work with all the hard work since he just needed to do hard work for a year. soon he got promoted in his job, he started earning more money and he has 10 months left. He started repaying his all debts and just in 2 months he has paid 75% of his debt. James still has 8 months, he always had dream to be an artist so he started following his passion towards art, because he has lackness of time in just 3 months he has made more than 100 paintings, he made so beautiful paintings that people start buying his paintings, he started making more paintings and in 4 months he got rich enough to live luxury life. Those friend who used to ignore him, are now running after to meet James. James also got married to his psychiatrist, who supported him in his bad time.

Now the day comes when this pact gonna get terminated, James completely forgot about this pact, time has spent too fast. One day when James was making his painting, someone knocks at his door, James went to open the door, and James saw, Mr. Suicide was standing. Mr.Suicide said, Hello James, pact is over, you can die now… James said, I want to continue this pact for rest of my life. Mr. Suicide smiled and said, “I knew it, that’s why i did this pact with you”, “and remember one thing life is beautiful”, always choose it over me”!
